We've moved. The site is still under construction, but you're welcomed to come over and sign up. Authors start submitting your stories for review.
Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello fellow Spuffy fans,
I have some bad news. Version 2 (or is it 3) of BSCentral is closing. The new version will reopen on a new server, hopefully by January.
Please check the LJ for the new site information. http://community.livejournal.com/bscentral
If anyone needs to contact me, please don't use the site's email system. It doesn't work.
You can reach me at truspuffyfan@gmail.com
I'm not giving up. I hope you guys don't either.

I swear we are cursed. Our techie tells me the problems we are having don't seem to have a known fix. She's tried everything. She's going to have to uninstall this current version of Efiction and install another one. The database is safe, so we won't have to reload any of the stories individually. Cross your fingers, toes, rub your rabbit's foots. Do whatever you have to do to get this archive back up and running.

Hello, guys! I know it's been a long month. Thanks for your continued patience.
We have a new server company. It's a small company, and the woman running it will also be our technical assistance. She's been able to transfer the database to the new server and the last thing to be done is altering the Efiction settings so the story contents will show up.
Here's the problem. She's having some family issues and won't be able to work on the site for the moment. That has us in a holding pattern. I hope to hear from her soon.
If you guys don't want to wait, and feel the site should go ahead and close. Let me know. It won't hurt my feelings.

Sorry, guys! While the site is back, stories are not updating. I apologize. We're trying to work out the kinks.

We're finally back! Not sure how things are running yet. I'll need to see if the stories are uploading and posting correctly. But...we're open. We're also moving. I'm in contact with a new server company. We're trying to figure out a timetable for moving the stories, setting up the domain, and all the other stuff that goes into creating new space on a server. I'm thinking a few weeks max.
Thanks for your patience, and I look forward to reading your works. Hope you guys have been busying writing!
Welcome back!

After talking with a lot of people about this, I'm pretty certain we won't have to close the archive. Yay!! We will have to move to a new server and the addy will change, but that's not too big of deal considering the alternative.
Check here for more news. And thanks again for your continued support.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the closing of BuffySpike Central. We're losing our benefactor, Isabelle, to the real world.
I would like to keep the archive running. The main problem I have is the fact I don't write script, so I wouldn't be able to troubleshoot if we have a problem.
We're looking at February 15th as the closure date. No new stories will be accepted after January 30th, and all WIP must be completed by the Feb. 15th.
I don't know what will happen to the archive. I will try to save it to a harddrive. Just in case we open again somewhere else.
It's been great! I am sorry to see it end, especially with the Season 8 comics premiering in March.
Thank you for all the hardwork and excellent stories!
Mia
ETA: Thanks to all of you who've emailed with offers of support. Much appreciated. We've decided to try to keep the site open. We'll have to move to a new server, and we'll need technical support from our members.
If you know of someone who could assist us with any script problems, please have them email me before the 15th.

As some of you have noticed, we are having problems with posting. It's a script issue and Isabelle is working on figuring out what went wrong.
Thanks for your patience and sorry again for the inconvenience.

I've been a bad admin. I totally forgot to do a Featured fic for the last few months. Please nominate 3 stories for our Summer Featured Fics over at the BSC LJ, http://community.livejournal.com/bscentral/

I'm sorry to announce that BSC has its first plagarized fic. Finding Heaven by buffysummers was actually Earning Eternity by Christy Rae. The fic has been removed and apologies sent to Christy Rae. If you suspect a fic has been plagarized, please don't hesitate to notify us.
Thanks, Ladycat!

All works submitted to the site must have a disclaimer. There's no getting around this. There's no ignorance of the rule. It is the very first rule on the submission page. And since I've had to write too many rejection letters for this very reason in the last few days, no disclaimer-less stories will be validated.
Thanks so much for your cooperation on this matter.

I've been receiving a lot of emails asking what exactly a beta is. So here's some clarification. A beta is the internet term for an editor. A beta will review your story, check for any problems, suggest plot, and basically make your work presentable.
Here are a few email addresses for those who've volunteered.
lisa@debruine.info
lhudson@insightbb.com
Please remember these folks are volunteering.
ETA: Spuffy Noelle has created a new community on LJ for potential betas and authors.

When submitting your stories for validations, please keep these rules in mind.
- All chapters must be numbered. We have no way of knowing which order the chapters should be added. Therefore, your story will not be validated.
- Word length: 500 for ficlets, 1000 for stories. With some exceptions.
- If your story isn't validated, please check your inbox for an email. We send out No Letters to all authors whose works are rejected.
- A No letter does not prevent you from resubmitting your fic. Heed our suggestions and try again.
Thanks and happy writting.
